The Photos - Las Fotos

Looking across the river Tormes from the Roman bridge you can see the city, with the cathedrals at the highest point.
There are some picturesque views across the river to the city.
On the other side of the river Tormes from the city there is a collection of individually-decorated tree trunks - a good use for dead trees.
The cathedrals are the defining feature of the city's silhouette.
Behind the cathedrals is the Patio Chico, which gives some great views of the architecture.
The recently-restored altarpiece of the old cathedral consists of a panel of 53 paintings depicting the life of Christ, topped by a fresco showing the Final Judgement.
The patio of the convent of Las Dueñas is a peaceful haven.
The cloister of the convent of Las Dueñas is an irregular pentagon on 2 levels.
The cloister of the convent of Las Dueñas has some beautiful stonework.
The façade of the convent of San Esteban is incredibly detailed.
The altarpiece of the church of San Esteban was made by Churriguera, and is very ornate woodwork, covered in gold leaf.
The interior of the church of San Esteban is very atmospheric, though quite dark.
In the old part of the city there are many pedestrian streets winding between the old buildings.
The clock in the Plaza Mayor is one of the central meeting points.
The Plaza Mayor is renowned as one of the best in Spain.
In the evening the Plaza Mayor's lighting emphasises the golden colour of the stone of the surrounding buildings.
